Why an Open 60?

Why an Open 60 after a 470 and a Mumm 36?

“Taking the helm of an Open 60 racing yacht is the greatest experience for a skipper in competition.

One night I wept, out in the middle of the Atlantic, because I had achieved my dream of seeing my first sailing boat, a 470 dinghy, growing into an Open 60!”

"Cecilia went through all sorts during the regatta: winds of 40 knots, planing at 22 knots, sailing through the busy shipping lanes of the English Channel, entire solitary night shifts in the cockpit. She endured great storms, huge waves, and times where the boat was in danger of being wrecked. She crossed the Atlantic non-stop, there and back again."

Our Italian yachtswoman was even honoured by the French press, with an article in Libération, complete with photograph. In the article "Cecilia CARRERI, first on the rope" the daily national paper described her trip and her motivations.
