Castor

Cecilia Carreri tells us: "The Castor is a 4,221 metre peak in the Monte Rosa group. I have climbed this mountain twice setting out from the Quintino Sella refuge, up the normal route along the south-eastern crest. I climbed from the Gressoney valley via the Bettaforca and Bettolina passes up to the Quintino Sella refuge, at 3,585 metres, which is the starting point of the normal route up to the Castor.

On a third occasion, I climbed up the west wall, starting from Plateau Rosa, just after the Mezzalama Trophy event; the summit was icy and it was very foggy on the descent towards the Quintino Sella refuge."
